Thursday 9th January 2025

The 2025 Rahel o FoÌ‚n lecture will be presented by Revd Dr Karen E. Smith.

It will examine the life of Sarah Ann [Evans] Edwards who was married to William Edwards, the Principal of the College from 1880-1925. (He was responsible for moving the College to Cardiff from Pontypool in 1893.) Often referred to as 'Mrs Principal' or 'Mrs Dr Edwards', her work has often been overshadowed by the achievements of her husband. However, Sarah Edwards was a formidable figure and a Baptist leader in her own right.  This lecture will explore her civic involvement, as well as her contribution to Baptist life.

The lecture will be delivered in English. â€‹
